“The Doc has a great chairside manner, engaging and relaxing the patient. He is very knowledgeable about his job, engaged professionally among his peers in his work and the latest procedures, and he carefully explains procedures to whatever the interest level of the patient, using models, computer simulations, etc., laying out the sequence of events and what to expect, as well as offering the patient options. He personally describes and provides written instructions for the medications needed, the timing for taking them, and even provides some of them. He is accommodating of the patient, even if the patient has gag reflex, dental anxiety, white coat, or whatever. He personally calls after procedures to make sure that the patient is doing OK, offering advice on what to do and when to do it. In sum, he really cares about successfully meeting the needs of the patient, providing a quality service and product, and ensuring that the patient is very satisfied with the results.”

“My visit was the second step in getting my implant–putting the screw into my jawbone. He reviewed x-rays beforehand to make sure he did not hit the nerve of that tooth. I did not even feel the needle he used to numb me up before he started the procedure. He explained what he would be doing and that I should not feel any pain. I did not feel any pain. He and Diane are a great team and always make me feel at ease. Both are very caring and want to make as comfortable as possible. They always ask if I’m doing alright during the procedure and tell me how great I am doing during the procedure. I can absolutely say that my dentist and his staff are the best and I would recommend them to anyone who is in need of a dentist.”

“After having my second bridge break, I decided to go with implants. Dr. O’Connor was very concerned about the fact that I had an injection of Reclast a year ago for Osteoporosis Treatment. Since this injection could affect the healing process of the bones where my implants would be placed, he contacted a Doctor who was very knowledgeable about the Reclast infusion and the healing of bones as a result of this infusion. Dr. O’Connor gave me many papers of research to read about this concern. After discussing this concern with Dr. O’Connor, I was very confident that the implants would be a good choice for me instead of another “long” bridge in my mouth. Everything went well with the implants and I am grateful that I made the decision to have the implants. Dr. O’Connor and his staff are the “best”!!! Realizing I had avoided photographs & smiling for the camera for nearly 10 years & with a looming milestone birthday (60) I consulted with Dr. O’Connor & we ventured into a precise & methodical plan to get me back to beaming. I had a broken 3 tooth posterior bridge crown that needed updating, a 30+ year old central incisor crown that had become hideous, the metal post (root) had leached metal & stained my gums dark. ” I’m so pleased and grateful to have found Dr. Tom and his wonderful staff! I’ve seen many dentists and I’ve had the gamut of experiences, from good to awful. I can honestly say that this has been the most positive experience I’ve ever had at a dentist. It had been three years since I had seen a dentist and I knew had had some major decay. I’m a soda junkie, tooth grinder, and a few of my molars had started to sometimes ache. I had procrastinated enough and I finally decided to reclaim my health! I couldn’t ask for more in a dentist than Dr. Tom. He was very warm and friendly, yet professional. I feel reassured to know he is a veteran in his field. He trained at WashU which is the best, and has been in practice for 35 years at the same locale; yet he is upbeat and enthusiastic like a newbie! His passion for dentistry is quite evident. He is clearly a master at his craft and he demonstrated his vast knowledge. He actually took the time to sit down with me in his office and educate me on all aspects of oral health. I have never had a dentist do this. We then discussed my case in depth and all of my options. I was very impressed by the advanced technology he used to compose his diagnosis, and there was no way to refute his findings. He informed me that several of my molars would eventually need crowns, however he advised me against crowns at this juncture. We decided to simply replace old defunct fillings and do sealants, since crowns do not last many years and would eventually need costly replacement(I am 32 years old). He demonstrated a very high degree of ethical conscience and I could tell his #1 priority was my my wellbeing patient, not making a profit. I came out of the exam with a detailed plan that visually described all of my upcoming treatments. My first round of fillings went extremely well. I was very nervous and he was quite understanding and calming! He was very gentle and the novacane injections were practically imperceptible. He often asked me how I was doing and he seemed very concerned for my comfort. I actually began to fall asleep despite the whiz of the drill! After the treatment I had very little soreness and I resumed normal activity. Several weeks later, I developed sensitivity to cold which is common with deep cavity fillings, but I became worried. I called the office and they scheduled me in immediately. He examined me gratis, reassured me that everything looked great, and gave me a free sealant which completely eased the sensitivity. Throughout all the proceedings, I never once felt an ounce of judgment despite my negligence of oral health and my neurotic antics! I am very happy.

About the Hygienist: Kathy is an absolute doll and she makes getting a dental cleaning as pleasant of an experience as possible! She is so sweet, cheerful, and upbeat. Her effervescence is practically contagious, and she really put me in a great mood! Her cleaning was thorough and detailed, yet she was very gentle and I had zero discomfort. I didn’t even mind the scraping, which is something that usually makes me shudder. My teeth felt slick and smooth for days, and I wish I could duplicate the results at home.

About the Front Desk: Diane the office manager has a very friendly and pleasant demeanor. She is courteous, professional, and she runs the office in an incredibly efficient manner. The people who are best at their jobs are those who truly enjoy their profession, and I can tell Dianne has a passion for her job. I arrived for my first appointment five minutes late, very frazzled, and nervous. She was very understanding and kind!”

I had all my top teeth pulled and then got a denture. I have to say that it was the best visit I have ever had. Diane (his asst) along with Dr. O’Connor explained everything up front and have been very informative when I had questions. The day of the surgery I was nervous but they put me at ease the minute I got into the chair. I had sedation dentistry done and it went completly smooth without any trouble. I honestly do not remember much from that day due to the sedation, however I knew I was in good hands there. I have to say I have had some bad experiences with dentists in the past however I have now found one I can stay with for any other needs for the rest of my life. I would reccomend anyone looking for a dentist to call Dr. O’Connor first. Dr. O’Connor has the best chair side manners and he really cares about his patients. What made matters worse was that, while the tooth was infected, I was told I would not be scheduled to have it removed until three monthes down the road- with no antibiotic prescribed for the infection. What’s more- as the underlying bone healed, the removed tooth would sit loose in an invisaline. Also, it would be best not to eat with the tooth in!
