"If you're on this website, as I was once, you must be "needing" a dentist who comes highly recommended. A dentist who would not only make you feel welcome and relaxed but also is sincere in your general well being. I had a very bad dentist 20 yrs ago, a rootcanal was done at that time, and I hurt for weeks! After that I stayed away. I had good teeth, but I knew I would have to go at some point , I just kept putting it off. Then I cracked a molar. So you can just imagne the extreme anxiety I was feeling, I had no choice but to find someone now. Diane brought me in right away. They were very thorough with my history and all my health issues. Dr. O'Connor went thru everything with me himself. He was very concerned with my "bad experience" and made it very clear that his office would make my experience as pleasurabe as they could. I had two procedures to endure, the removal of the cracked tooth along with a tooth on the opposite side needed removed also, which both ended up being implants. And let me tell you, both procedures were painless and anxiety free! In just 3 visits, his office has helped me overcome my anxiety and things could not have turned out any better! "I went to see Dr. O'Connor three weeks ago because my wisdom teeth were causing me a lot of irritation and I wanted them to be removed before I went to school. He say me the day I called, and his staff was able to get me an appointment to have my wisdom teeth removed the next day! I was very scared about having my teeth removed because my friends all told me about their painful experiences with their dentisits. Dr. O'Connor and his wonderful assistant Erin made the experience painless, and I must admit fun. I was not knocked for the procedure (which I was happy about because I have had a bad experience with anesthetics before). I was comfortable the entire time. The following two days at home after the surgery was fine. I was in very little pain, and my cheeks didn't even swell up. I was surprised how painless the recovery was since 3 of the 4 were impacted. I thought for sure that my teeth were in such deplorable shape that there would be no choice but to have them all pulled and get dentures. Over the course of about nine months I have had a surgical implant placed, some teeth filled and many crowned, bone grafting, a few tooth extractions, and a night guard made to protect my new smile. I had my wisdom teeth pulled and could not feel a thing!

Also I barely remember anything that happened that day.

Recovery went fast. Cheeks had very little swelling for a short amount of time. I also barely experienced any pain. When I did, I took some Advil and it went right away!

Within a week and a half later, I had my stitches out, which was completely painless!

"Let me start with saying I am terrified of dentists. Any kind of "foreign object" in my mouth or the sounds they make drives me crazy!!! Not only am I fearful of the "normal check-up", I've also had numerous terrible experiences with most of my previous dentists. Unfortunately this kept me away from any dentist visit for 8+ years. Obviously I was in desperate need of a check-up...

After checking out many reviews on this site I decided to give Dr. O'Connor and his staff a chance. I was sure to be forthcoming with my fears and prior experiences so they knew exactly what they were getting into! We planned my first few visits to be short and gradual. Dr. O'Connor was very patient and genuinely concerned about my fears. They helped me prepare for each visit by reminding me (the day before) to bring my headphones and take a relaxing walk to clear my mind. Who does that?! During the first cleaning the hygienist was sure to take multiple breaks to ask me how I was doing to calm me down.

After 5 visits I have had multiple procedures completed including having my wisdom teeth extracted. I'm very close to not even needing my headphones anymore! Thanks guys!

"I don't remember the first time I went to Dr. Tom, but I do remember that he is highly qualified and extremly competent. I have never been dissappointed with treatment, and have always been informed of possible posttreatment difficulties when noted. I have had two crowns since being a patient and a few fillings replaced. He and his staff are very aware of me as a client, and are always concerned about my dental health and fitness as well as my overall health in general. "I am a 50 year old male who had an absoulte fear of going to the Dentist- Not very good experiences in the past. Needless to say my teeth were not in good shape. I had trIed several Dentist in my area with no luck and finally searched the internet for Dentist reviews that would address my concerns and found Dr. O'Connor. I decided to go see Dr. O'Connor and from the very first visit I knew I had found my team. Everyone made me feel extremely comfortable as they spent the time to really understand my concerns while doing the neccesary work to put a plan (18 months) in place to address the dental work I required and also provide me the smile that I had always wanted.

Dr. O'Connor and his team are outstanding when it came to making sure that I was comfortable during all of the procedures that had to be completed. "Dr. Tom O'Connor and his staff are like old friends, although I have been a patient for 4 months only. First they carried out a comprehensive exam of my teeth, gum, mouth. Then Dr. O'Connor evaluated my situation and explained his recommendations in a very friendly manner. One of my molar teeth was missing, therefore Dr. O'Connor suggested dental implant. However, before the implant I needed orthodontics. He took care of the orthodontic treatment too.

Dr. O'Connor is not only an excellent dentist, but also a very nice gentlemen. His appointments are exact, no waiting. The procedures are painless. He pays careful attention to the details, and explains everything in advance. There are no surprises.

The cost is probably at fair market value. Dr. O'Connor is an out-of-network dentist, therefore his services are more expensive than those of in-network dentists. However, I consider Dr. O'Connor's work and services as an investment for the long term. Also, I moved to Dr. O'Connor because I had quality problems with my previous dentist. I don't mind paying more for the quality I receive from Dr. O'Connor.

She had been seeing a different dentist for over 20 years but had concerns about that dentist doing major work because of his advancing age. Dr. O'Connor is highly educated, down to earth, approachable and honestly makes your concerns his first priority. My initial evaluation consisted of an hour with Dr. Tom one on one discussing MY goals and agenda rather than his, examining my current state of dental health, and deciding together on my options for further care.
Since my initial visit I can say that in all my dental work, multiple measures were taken to ensure my comfort and that all procedures were performed with as little discomfort as possible. "Go to Dr. O'Connor. I'm 55 yrs old and can smile for the first time with without hiding my teeth. My husband and I have had both routine and extensive dental care, including root canals and implants. In my case, I have had misaligned teeth my whole life and a TMJ operation. My teeth finally got to the point where I needed more than routine dental treatment. Dr. Tom helped me arrange everything. We had extensive consultations and determined a plan of action including finding a reasonable orthodontist. He coordinated with the orthodontist to ensure I was getting the best care. He even managed to do a root canal on me while I had braces. (My first root canal - I was scared -I still don't know how he made it pain-free.) . After the orthodontic work it was time for the implant and crowns. Everything went wonderfully.

"I have always thought my smile was my best feature, so when aging dentistry began to break down, I felt like I was losing my "window to the world" and needed to do something about it. I checked reviews and interviewed other dentists before choosing to have my extensive crown work done by Dr. Tom O'Connor. It was obvious from our initial interview that he was extremely thorough, evaluating each tooth and describing the existing condition of the tooth, its current gold or porcelain repair, and the prognosis for restoration. In all, Dr. Tom restored more than 20 badly deteriorated teeth, most with ceramic crowns. Since the work was so extensive, it was done by section, with the front teeth first. The compliments came immediately! Whether I smiled more, or the smiles just looked better, I knew I had made the right decision. Not only did my teeth look great; the O'Connors even checked up on my well-being each evening following a procedure - to me this showed they care about their patients. "I have had Dr. Tom O'Connor as my dentist and orthodontist since I was 3 years old. He has done my braces, cavities, and everything else I have ever needed my whole life. I remember going into his office when I was a child and having a ton of fun even though I was so young and the dentist was always a scary place to go, but I have always loved going to the dentist and that's because of Dr. Tom. The entire office is great and I still enjoy myself every time I have an appointment. "I originally went to Dr. O'Connor in a desperate situation. A terrible toothache woke me in the middle of the night. I got on the internet and found this website. I read the superb reviews of Dr. O'Connor and emailed him a message. To my surprise he called early the next morning to discuss my dental problem and fit me into his very busy schedule that day.

I have been extremely impressed by the professionalism and care that is shown to patients by Dr. O'Connor and his entire staff. Dr. O'Connor spent a good deal of time learning of my dental history and determining current issues. He then took a lot of time explaining things to me and going over various options. (I have never had a dentist spend this much time talking with me.)

We decided that the best course of action for me was to get two implants. The implant surgery was well-planned and I felt well-prepared as to what would take place. The surgery itself was painless and the staff made me feel at ease and comfortable during the entire procedure. I was back to my regular routine by the end of the day.

"In 19 years, I have had 1 or 2 root canals, 2 or 3 crowns, and multiple fillings. He is always sensitive to any possible pain or discomfort, is very comfortable to talk with, and very thorough. After one extensive treatment, Dr. O'Connor game me his home phone number and emphasized that I shouldn't hesitate to call if I had any problems or concerns over the weekend. "Highly recommend. I' ve been going to Dr. O'Connor for 25 years. I was previously a dental asst, and fairly critical when assessing dental care. Dr O'Connor keeps up on the latest advances in dentistry, routinely participates in advanced education. He is expert on implants. He can handle almost any dental issue and also very important, knows when to consult or refer you to a specialist. Office staff also great - very compentent, helpful, friendly.
He recently performed an implant on me, which was very successful. (I was a little apprehensive due to what I've read in the past or heard from friends). He educated me about the process and recommended websites where I could learn more. The implant was complete months ago and is just like a real tooth.

Dr.O'Connor no longer participates in my company's dental health plan and so is now more expensive than if we changed to a dentist in the plan. We thought about it, but decided to stay with him. He is worth the extra money, especially since we occassionally have more than routine dental issues. (his office helps by filling out the dental claim paperwork).
